I had known Janelle's brother and sister in law for a while and towards the end of last year Janelle and I kept trying to meet up to talk photography, kids, etc.  The only problem is every time we set up a time to meet one of us went into labor!  Yep, we were both expecting in January this past year and kid you not, each time we set up a date, babies decided to arrive.  Well, we finally did meet up and i can't tell you what an amazing friend she has become.  We have a mutual love for Jesus, photography, our hubbies, kids and good heart to heart girl time :)  We decided this year we were going to do a session swap since neither of us are ever in our own family photos, always being behind the camera.  I recently did theirs and am so excited for Janelle to photograph our family next week!  We are mostly doing our own edits, but i couldn't resist finishing up a few (all right a little more than a few) from their session... they are such a fun and gorgeous family.

Last Minute Holiday Mini Sessions Available!!

To be completely honest, i wasn't planning on doing these this year.  But, i have had multiple inquiries about some kind of small session for the sole purpose of holiday cards and possibly some gift prints.  So I am opening 2 dates for mini sessions, one taking place in Glendale and the other in North Scottsdale.  This is a MINI, so make sure that the session is what you are wanting.  If a full session would better fit your needs, please inquire and see if i have availability to get you in before the holidays!

Holiday Mini Sessions 

 

Here’s what’s included: 

• 20 minute session 

• 1 wardrobe 

• 5-10 images in a private online gallery 

 

Plus your choice of one of the following options: 

• Select 3 images from your gallery to receive high resolution on a CD 

to make your own holiday greetings and gift prints from. 

OR 

• Select an image to be used in your custom designed holiday cards.  

The holiday cards are themed “Fine Art Textures” and will be 

designed to compliment the image you select.  Text on the front of 

the card is your choice.  You will receive a set of 24 5x7 cards with 

envelopes.  Each card is printed on professional paper that is the 

weight of a postcard and the back will be designed to match the 

front. 

 

ALSO 

~ You will be able to order prints and canvases of your images through 

your online gallery.   

~ Additional sets of 24 cards are available for $30 each.

• Saturday, November 22 in North Scottsdale

For the greeting cards, I wanted to offering something different that what you could get done on your own.  So I have themed the design of the cards "Fine Art Textures" and will be custom designing each client's cards to look unique and artistic.  Below are some samples...

I love photographing children of all ages, but i gotta admit that the age between newborn and about 6 months can be a bit challenging... no falling asleep easily and folding up in a little ball like a newborn and not quite sitting up solo like a 6 month old.  BUT this little guy was so smiley, "posed" so sweetly, and did so great interacting with his mom and dad!  Brayden, you made your session fun and easy to capture! Alright, look at this gorgeous family...

when i am photographing parents with their children, i think much of my style comes from moments i think they will want to remember when their little ones are grown... the snuggles, kisses, giggles...

And this image has a lot of meaning because of the special stuffed toy in the foreground.  Brayden's great-great grandma made these for her great-great children she would never meet, but wanted to pass something down from her to them.  What a great idea right!  Definitely a family heir loom to keep and continue to pass down the generations!

S family, you guys were great and Brayden is such an adorable baby boy!  Thanks for allowing me to photograph him in this precious stage :)

Simple Joys...

There are some things in life that are so small and simple, but enhance the day-to-day.  After my kiddies were in bed the other night, i sat down to do some editing.  I have my beloved mocha in hand and my mulled cider candle burning...mmmm!  I love this time of year!  The smells and and the fact that it is finally cool enough to really enjoy a great cup of coffee (not that i don't still have my morning cup everyday of the 100 and some odd degree AZ summer days, but now it feels like it's serving more than a caffeinated jolt purpose :)  So to all my girlfriends out there who lovingly referring to their cup of coffee as our morning "hug" (wink), here's to the simple joys in life :)  Take some time to notice the little things... the more i do, the more i find myself to be a thankful person.  

Life with a Two Year Old...

I have lots of images of my girl and little guys to share... i scheduled an "official" time to take some photos of them :) so i went a bit crazy!  But first, I have to share a bit of my day today...  Being that I have 3 kiddos under the age of 2, getting in and out of the car is always a workout!  It goes something like this: take in purse, diaper bag and anything i got while out and about, then proceed to take the kids in one at a time.  So, when we got home from some errands today, i got one of my little guys out of the van (yes, i am a mini-van mom and proud :) and took him inside.  I then went back out, unbuckled my girl and let her walk on inside.  I then got my other little guy out of his seat and went to go inside.  Um... yeah... for some reason the door wouldn't open... and that's because my sweet little 2 year old LOCKED IT!  Purse, keys, anything that could open the door is sitting inside.  Panic quickly set in and i'm yelling at the top of my lungs for my daughter to come and open the door for mommy.  I can hear her crying on the other side of the door, not knowing what to do.  I went in the backyard to look through the window to make sure my other little guy was ok inside (they are crawling all over the place, thus get into everything).  What to do, what to do.  After about 25 minutes of trying to get my 2 year old to open the door, I debated whether i was going to break a window or bust through the door.  I decided the latter would be cheaper to fix, so...

And this is what i made that nice little hole with...

Hey, a momma's gotta do what a momma's got to do.  And tomorrow i must go get a new door.

And here's a shot of that sweet innocent child that locked me out...

Yes, uh-oh is right baby girl.  Oh, how can i stay mad at that sweet face? 

I was noticing the other day all the things that evidence my girl's presence all over the house... this is her little art display in the kitchen... (it took me forever to scrape those little stickers off the granite!!)

While I'm on my girl, I'll post this because it is soooo her right now... she is such a girly girl (not an ounce of tomboy here!)  These are her favorite shoes and even though they are not easy to walk around in, she wears them everywhere.  And she carries a purse where ever she goes.  What's in that purse?  Well, lots of nick nacks... lip gloss, an old key chain, some old membership cards, her toy cell phone, and whatever else she puts in there on a given day.  I totally love this about her :)

And since Caleb was sick last time i was taking a few shots of the kids, here is his little showcase of images... he is such a wonderful boy... and he still lets mommy snuggle him :)

And one of all three of them together!  The boys loved grabbing the dirt... Shay was not happy that her hand got dirty... and mommy was happy that all three babies are in the same shot :)

Even though this is primarily my photography blog for my wonderful clients, i have also decided to post personal posts here as well every once in a while.  I will never get anything posted if i have two separate blogs!  Have a wonderful day and God bless!

Twins + Big sister Ellie makes 3!

I can relate soooo well to this dear family... they have a two year old and newborn twins!  Ellie is now the proud big sister to Baby Zoe and baby Sean.  Oh, i just melt when i get to photograph multiples!  I think i took almost as many shots of Ellie as I did of the twins!  She was just so spunky and sweet... we sang all kinds of songs- itsy bitsy spider, the bee song (she requested it, and i actually knew it!  Ha!  Can you tell what i do with most of my week ;)  and did some walking around for some great shots with mom!

I'll start with a shot of the stars...

I love Zoe's pouty lips!  It's amazing how twins love to snuggle together... 9 months of it is a hard habit to break ;)

I love this shot of C with her babies... the smell of newborns is so sweet!

And holy cow!  Can you believe C just had twins!!  You look AMAZING!!

There was some sweet interaction with C and her first baby... she was non-stop, go-go-go and then a loud motorcycle went by and she was clinging tight to her momma!

Alright, back to these precious babies... Zoe and Sean made the best faces during their session... this one just melts my heart
