Daniela came for her 7 month portraits and reminded me what an absolutely adorable, smiley, fun age this is to photograph!  She was full of snuggles and smiles... and loved playing with mom and dad while I stood back and documented :)

Baby Jack

Meet baby Jack...

At two weeks old, he was definately the ideal age for newborn photographs!  Below is my most favorite type of newborn image... scrunched up just like he was in momma's belly, but now in Daddy's hands.

C Family Maternity

The first time around being parents, these two were surprised with twins!  Now that Jackson and Avery are 4 and the shock of twins has worn off a bit :), they are expecting baby #3 (whose gender will remain a surprise until delivery!)  As I was editing their images, I just kept thinking what a gorgeous family they are!  And I'm sure the new addition will follow suit :)  I think the first image below is my favorite because it looks like you all don't know there is a camera right in front of you!  Like i said before, gorgeous family right?!

Brianna

One thing that is important to capture at newborn/ young baby shoots is that sweet little form... that is why most of us that photograph newborns simply tell mom and dad not to worry about baby's wardrobe for the session.  But, mom did bring a very adorable dress that we couldn't resist getting a few shots in!  Girls are so fun to dress up... and darn those boutiques that sell the most beautiful baby clothes you've ever seen with the price tag to match!  How can we mommas resist!?!  Brianna was actually closer to 8 weeks old here, but still ended up falling asleep for a few shots!  It was wonderful to meet you both :)

I was just thinking, why do parents love shots of their newborn baby sleeping?  Well, for one I figure we are capturing the newborn stage and that's what they are doing most of the day.  But second, when your little bundle falls asleep, that's usually when you just sit and stare adoringly at them.  It's peaceful, quiet, and you can just take in the wonderful miracle you've just been given.

Somehow little ones bring out the best smiles in parents!

I love the way baby girl is posed up here!  Actually she's not posed at all, just taking a little snooze.

Babies never actually keep shoes on, so the best purpose for them is a cute photograph

And finally... the dress!  Definitely one for the keepsake box.  Doesn't she look like a baby doll?  Love it!

Skylar

Here is baby girl Skylar Grace... I first met her mom and dad at their maternity session at which time they didn't know if they were expecting a boy or girl.  What a sweet addition baby Skylar is and a great model for her first photographs!  I'm so glad the they suggested the first shot below and were brave enough to do it!  So wonderful to meet your little angel M&W!

Ooooo, look!  A butterfly just happened to land right in front of baby girl for this shot!  :) 

Mommy was a dancer for many years, so the ballerina shoes were a very personal touch.  And as a photographer I just LOVE anything ballerina for baby girls!

This necklace was a special gift from Daddy that matches Mommy's. 

Jackson

A little playtime at the park makes any one year old happy as can be!  It's something about the great outdoors that brings out that sparkle in children that's hard to capture in the studio.  So even in the hot summer months, i am still doing sunset shoots because the kids don't mind the heat if they get to run around and play!  I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Jackson in momma's belly and then his itty bittiness as a newborn... and now he's one!  Happy Birthday little guy and it was great to see you all again!

The ONE time we got the little man to sit still for a shot... what kid can resist a colorful pop-up book?! and some snuggles from mom of course :)

Remember this when you were a kid... 1, 2, 3 Weeeeeeeee!

This (in my opinion) is the BEST way to photograph baby boys!  Blue jeans, barefoot and no shirt :)  Just looks for carefree and all boy!

This shot just seemed like a black and white... sweet, slobbery baby smoocches!

And to cool off, we let little guy run through the splash pad.  If i didn't have expensive equipment hanging from my neck, i would have done just the same!

M Family Maternity

I have been doing a lot of belly sessions lately with big brothers/ sisters in the photos and I'm loving it!  This little guy is so excited to have a baby sister and had a huge smile on his face the entire session!  Holly, you really do pregnancy well :)  I look forward to meeting your little angel!  But for now, put those feet up and enjoy the home stretch of your pregnancy.

Look at the beautiful blue peepers in this family!  I bet I can guess what color baby girl's eyes are going to be ;)

How cute is big brother!  He's going to have to beat off the girls with a stick!
